The witch returned home from her trip, head buzzing with exciting new ideas she picked up from everyone she met at the Witch Conference.
Her many dolls gathered around while she explained to them that she was going to start practicing Chaos Magic to improve things.
The dolls looked at each other in puzzlement. They had no idea what that could possibly mean, but anything that helped them keep the house running smoothly sounded like a wonderful idea, they all agreed.
So the witch closed herself in her workshop and got started.
The next day, she emerged with a brand new doll to help around the house. She explained that this doll was special—a Chaos Doll—and it was going to help around the house doing its own special tasks.
The other dolls happily welcomed their new sister with warm smiles and hugs.
Right away something seemed wrong about the Chaos Doll, however. As soon as the witch turned it loose, it started running wild all over the house, making a huge mess wherever it went!
Dolls scrambling to catch a falling vase it pushed over were too slow to stop it from tipping over a bookshelf. While other dolls struggled to tip it upright again and sort the books into their appointed place, the Chaos Doll was smashing plates, standing on a kitchen counter.
The once-tidy and well-kept house had erupted into a frenzy of panicked dolls trying to subdue a giggling, sprinting force of chaos while others desperately tried to tidy up the damage it caused as fast as they could.
More dolls tried to secure precious, fragile decorations out of their new sister’s reach, hoping to avert disaster before it could strike.
The Chaos Doll was remarkably good at foiling all their adorable little efforts, however.
The witch leaned back in her chair and sipped her tea, watching the spectacle unfold with a pleased smile.
Oh yes! This most certainly was an improvement. She would have to write the other witches she met and commend them for the fun idea.
